NFL Early Birds

Big Rivalries, Bad Weather & Bold Picks — Who’s Ready for Sunday?

Eight games. Sixteen teams. Eleven BuckBully picks. One wild Sunday afternoon! 🏈

It’s Week 5, and the NFL is serving up heated rivalries, undefeated teams, struggling offenses, injured stars and potential upsets.

At BuckBully, we’re not just picking winners. We’re hunting mismatches, studying defensive weaknesses, monitoring injuries and finding opportunities where the numbers work in our favor.

Let’s get into Sunday’s early bird action!

🐻 Bears vs. Packers — Bear Down or Letdown?

Our Prediction: Bears 23, Packers 20

Chicago heads into Lambeau with a 3-1 record and a defense that’s been making life miserable for opposing offenses.

Caleb Williams’ hamstring injury raises questions at quarterback, but D’Andre Swift could be the key to keeping Chicago’s offense moving.

Green Bay has weaknesses up front, and the Bears need to take advantage by controlling the clock and keeping Jordan Love off the field.

🎯 BuckBully Pick: D’Andre Swift 70+ rushing yards (-255)

We’re expecting Swift to get plenty of opportunities with Kyle Monangai sidelined.

Our Take: Control the ground game, protect the football and let that Bears defense work. BEAR DOWN!

🌧️ Browns vs. Jets — Somebody Bring an Umbrella!

Our Prediction: Browns 20, Jets 16

Rain could turn this matchup into an old-school defensive slugfest.

Cleveland has the defensive talent to make life difficult for New York, while the Jets are missing Breece Hall.

Expect conservative play-calling, shorter passes and plenty of battles for field position.

🎯 BuckBully Pick: Under 41 points (-135)

Our projected 36 combined points leave a little breathing room.

Our Take: We’re expecting more punts than fireworks!

🔥 Bengals vs. Dolphins — Trouble in Paradise

Our Prediction: Bengals 27, Dolphins 23

Miami’s winless start hasn’t been pretty, and Cincinnati has an opportunity to take advantage.

The big question is the health of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. If Cincinnati gets its playmakers on the field, Miami’s defense could have a long afternoon.

The Dolphins need to run the football and keep their defense fresh in the Florida heat.

Our Take: Bengals win a competitive, potentially high-scoring contest. We’re passing on an official prop until the receiving situation is clearer.

☠️ Raiders vs. Patriots — Don’t Sleep on Vegas!

Our Prediction: Raiders 28, Patriots 24

Upset alert!

New England’s injury-depleted secondary could have its hands full with Brock Bowers and the Raiders’ passing attack.

The Patriots have home-field advantage, but Las Vegas has the weapons to exploit mismatches and keep this game competitive.

🎯 BuckBully Picks:

  • Brock Bowers 60+ receiving yards (-235)
  • Las Vegas Raiders +6.5 (-175)

Our Take: We like Vegas to make some noise! Even if the Raiders don’t pull off the upset, that extra touchdown cushion could come in handy.

⚔️ Vikings vs. Saints — Purple Reign Continues?

Our Prediction: Vikings 27, Saints 20

Minnesota enters undefeated, and New Orleans is dealing with key defensive injuries.

Missing linebackers could create opportunities for Aaron Jones on the ground and T.J. Hockenson in the passing game.

The Vikings must protect their quarterback and avoid turnovers, but their balanced offense gives them an advantage.

🎯 BuckBully Picks:

  • T.J. Hockenson 40+ receiving yards (+100)
  • Minnesota Vikings moneyline (-130)

Our Take: We like Minnesota to remain undefeated, with Hockenson helping move the chains.

🤠 Texans vs. Titans — Somebody’s Getting Their First Win!

Our Prediction: Texans 23, Titans 17

Both teams enter 0-4. Somebody is finally getting off the losing train!

Houston’s offensive line has struggled, but Tennessee’s secondary injuries give C.J. Stroud an opportunity to connect with Nico Collins.

The Texans need to establish a balanced attack and avoid giving Tennessee easy scoring opportunities.

🎯 BuckBully Picks:

  • Houston Texans moneyline (-375)
  • Nico Collins 60+ receiving yards (-255)

Our Take: We’re backing Houston to finally get that first victory, with Collins making an impact through the air.

🌧️ Giants vs. Commanders — Rain, Runs & Risky Throws

Our Prediction: Giants 20, Commanders 17

Washington gets Jayden Daniels back, but injuries and possible rain could complicate its offense.

Daniels’ mobility makes him dangerous even when the passing game struggles. Meanwhile, the Giants have opportunities against Washington’s depleted secondary.

This one could come down to turnovers and time of possession.

🎯 BuckBully Picks:

  • New York Giants +6.5 (-175)
  • Jayden Daniels 20+ rushing yards (-340)

Our Take: We’re calling for a Giants upset, but taking the extra points gives us protection in a close game. Daniels can still produce rushing yards even if Washington loses.

🏈 Colts vs. Steelers — Old-School Football

Our Prediction: Steelers 20, Colts 17

Rain, physical defenses and offensive injuries? Sounds like Pittsburgh football!

The Colts can attack an injured Steelers secondary, but weather could make explosive passing plays harder to execute.

Expect rushing attempts, field-position battles and plenty of clock management.

🎯 BuckBully Pick: Under 48.5 points (-190)

Our projected 37 combined points fit comfortably below that alternate total.

Our Take: We’re expecting a physical game where touchdowns are earned, not given away.
