The Haters Might Be Sick! 😂🏀

They criticized her shooting, mocked her layups, questioned her attitude… Now Angel Reese is making history on basketball’s biggest stage!

2026 WNBA Finals - Game One

Love her or hate her, Angel Reese knows how to keep people talking!

From Bayou Barbie to social media’s favorite Drama Queen, Reese has heard it ALL. She’s too emotional, can’t finish layups, talks too much, and supposedly only gets rebounds off her own misses.

Well, somebody better check those receipts! 😂

Because while the haters have been busy counting missed shots, Angel has been collecting rebounds, double-doubles, playoff victories, and now a little piece of WNBA Finals history.

In Game 2 against the Golden State Valkyries, Reese put on an absolute clinic, shooting 10-for-16 while leading the Atlanta Dream to a 79–65 victory.

She became the youngest player in WNBA history to record at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in a Finals game. Atlanta also celebrated its first Finals victory in franchise history.

And here’s the scary part: She’s starting to develop that scorer’s mentality!

Instead of simply cleaning up missed shots, Reese is demanding the basketball, attacking defenders, and becoming more comfortable creating offense.

Caitlin Clark Fans Probably Aren’t Loving This! 👀

Remember when every Angel Reese missed layup became a viral highlight?

Well, where are those same cameras now?

The Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese debate has fueled women’s basketball for years. Clark has her shooting, playmaking, and superstar appeal. Reese brings elite rebounding, physical defense, and relentless hustle.

Both can be great without tearing the other down.

But let’s not pretend Reese’s production isn’t special.

She averaged 12.1 rebounds during the 2026 regular season, continuing one of the most impressive rebounding starts to a WNBA career.

And now she’s showing she can deliver offensively when the stakes are highest.

The biggest question was never whether Angel could rebound. It was whether she could become an efficient, dependable scorer.

Game 2 gave us a pretty convincing answer.

From Barbie to Finals MVP? Let’s Talk Odds! 🏆

Before the Finals began, BetMGM had Reese as Atlanta’s leading Finals MVP candidate.

PlayerOpening MVP odds
Gabby Williams+100
Angel Reese+400
Allisha Gray+600
Rhyne Howard+650

Reese’s +400 opening odds represented a 20% implied probability before accounting for the sportsbook’s margin.

After averaging 22 points and 14 rebounds through two Finals games, her MVP case looks a whole lot stronger. Those numbers are backed by 55.6% shooting from the field.

Updated post-Game 2 MVP odds weren’t reliably available at publication, but if Angel keeps delivering performances like Monday’s, she could become the player everyone is chasing.

BetMGM opening championship odds, October 14. These are not updated prices following Game 2.

The series is tied 1–1, and Atlanta heads home for Games 3 and 4. Suddenly, the Dream have momentum and an opportunity to take control.

My prediction? Atlanta in six or seven games, provided Reese maintains her aggressiveness, Allisha Gray delivers offensively, and Atlanta continues forcing turnovers.

The biggest concern is Golden State’s defense and bench depth. But if Atlanta wins the championship with Reese averaging somewhere around 20 points and 13 rebounds, she’d have a serious Finals MVP argument.

The BuckBully Bottom Line 🐂

Angel Reese doesn’t need everybody to like her. She needs her teammates to trust her, defenders to fear her, and the scoreboard to respect her.

Is she a finished product? Absolutely not. Her shooting consistency and offensive polish still need work.

But from Chicago to Atlanta, she’s proving that rebounding isn’t just a statistic. It’s a weapon.

And the same young woman some fans labeled a Drama Queen might end this season wearing a championship crown.

From Bayou Barbie to Finals MVP Barbie?

Now THAT would be one heck of a storyline!
